Ms. Emma is the luckiest girl ever! Her Grandma Monica made this amazing skirt, this picture doesn't even do it justice. It's AMAZING! I know all of my photographer friends are going to be asking me how to get their hands on one of these. (By the way, she made it in an afternoon...can you even believe that?)
Baby Emma wasn't super excited about us dressing her up and taking endless pictures but who could blame us? Maybe she'll forgive me someday.

So Many Pictures...So Little Time.
I'm a little behind in posting pics, but I've been able to take so many fun ones these past couple of weeks!
Up first, such a fun brother and sister combo! They were such good sports even after the millionth "This is the last one." Who could blame me though....I couldn't get enough of taking their pictures!
Thanks guys!

Love at First Click
Why is it that we all forget to play? We push aside things we loved to "grow up." Well, 20+ years after I first discovered my love for photography I am finally pursuing this passion.
It all started with this camera....
I challenge anyone to press the shutter button on this relic and not get a sense of wonderment. It's magical. From the sound of it, to the heavy weight of it, to the simple, old worn appeal of it.
It belonged to my Dad. I remember so many instances where he had this camera out..family vacations or taking micro pictures of flowers up close. I remember the smell of Old Spice on him as he leaned over to finally show me how it worked. From that second on I was hooked.
Oddly enough, as I got a little older I remember seeing this camera sitting in it's old leather case in my Dad's office. Collecting dust. Waiting to be reclaimed. I wondered why he never used it anymore. Maybe he lost his sense of play then too.
I can't remember exactly when he decided to get rid of it. It was in a box filled with other items we no longer needed. I couldn't believe he would give it away. I half heartedly asked for it, knowing that the answer would be no. However this time, with no hesitation my dad handed me this treasure. I couldn't believe my luck! For weeks I was obsessed with it. I took as many pictures as I could, waited the entire week for them to be developed, poured over the terrible pictures that I had gotten with it, and then....I grew up.
This camera has moved with me through college, my wedding, the birth of my son. Along the way it got passed up for other film camera's and then digital cameras. About a two years ago, while packaging things up for a yard sale, I came across it. I opened it - ("Pandora's Box, if you asked my husband) and the magic began again with the press of the shutter.
I started to think about how much I have always loved photography. How for as long as I can remember people have been asking me to take pictures and commenting on how much they liked them. It was time to learn how to play again. So it came out of the old leather case and ended up in my office where I would see it every day and be reminded that life is too short not to do things you love,
So...welcome to my new blog. Stop by when you want to be reminded of how fun it can be to follow your passions. I hope you'll enjoy seeing me develop this love and then maybe, just maybe you'll be inspired to follow your passion too.
